Inside the walls is the history of a royal palace, an armory and a powerful fortress. According to many, the greatest attraction of the tower is the Crown Jewels. It is a lavish and interesting collection of crowns and coronation ornaments. But for others, the significant attraction is the royal armories. It is a collection of armors dating from Medieval period.

The Buckingham Palace is Queen Elizabeth II's principal home and has been the official London residence of British Monarchy. It was originally a townhouse owned by the Dukes of Buckingham before it became a palace. One of the attractions of the palace is the changing of guard ceremonies that take in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace.
During summer, when the Royal Family takes up residence in Scotland, the palace is open for public viewing. By this time, one can see the grand state rooms and many of the royal collections of English and French furniture and paintings by Rubens, Rembrandt and Canaletto.
