A trip to Vietnam is not complete without tasting the street food. As a country in Asia which more often visited by many tourists, many Vietnamese street food dishes have become popular favorites around the world.
Street food isn't quite what I visualized here. I imagined a sort of food district, where there would be street vendors selling their food. In reality, you can find street vendors on any street at any time (but mainly at meal times), especially down alleyways (and there are a LOT of alleyways in Hanoi). There are areas where they are more concentrated, but they are everywhere.
So here's a sampler of street food in Vietnam:
variety of snails
Passion fruit juice with sunflower seeds
Fried cha ca
Com(rice) served with meat, fish and vegetables

Street foods are wonderful. In Hanoi, I eat street food everyday. I guess it's safe to eat since there are so many people eating them. Just eat the hot and well-cooked and take extra care in eating uncooked food like vegetable, herbs because they might not be washed carefully.
