The Four Points by Sheraton is one of the newest hotels in Bangkok located in Sukhumvit area. Surrounded by other property of Starwood like Westin, Sheraton and Aloft, Four Points offers the level of comfort and service close to what you expect from its upscale sister hotel but at a more affordable prices.
This three-year-old property which has 268 guest rooms and suites sits in the middle of Soi Sukhumvit 15, a few minute walk from BTS skytrain and MRT subway. From the moment I arrived in the lobby area, my first impression was it has a casual and youthful atmosphere. The hotel itself is modern and clean.
Service & Staff
I noticed that most of the staffs are young, attentive and efficient. What I love about the staffs is that they don’t make you feel that you are always being watched. The check-in process was a breeze. The receptionist asked for my passport and other requirements, and after a minute, she gave me my key card.
Everytime you call the room service to request for something, they will call you back to ensure if you received that request. Being said, the service I received from the staff at this hotel was phenomenal.
The set up for my room was typically the same as almost every other hotel rooms at a major hotel chain: short entrance hallway with a closet near the door, bathroom entrance across from the closet, and open plan bedroom/office space directly at the end of the hallway.
The room is well-kept, not worn and pretty spacious. It’s stocked with all the amenities you would find at similarly priced hotels. But for other items ( i.e. razor, toothbrush, etc) you have to call the room service and request for them(free of charge).
The room has a separate working station and a comfortable single sofa. It also offers a built-in luggage rack to store your suitcases off the floor. It also offers a decently stocked mini-bar and complimentary bottles of water being replenished daily.
It also has built-in media center so you can run any electronic devices to the TV. There’s also a DVD player and flat screen TV with interactive internet features.
There is no free internet in the room but there is a LAN connection that you can use for an additional charge. They offer a free wi-fi in the lobby and other common areas. The hotel also offers computer units in the lobby that you can use. To access the free wi-fi or workstations, you had to go to the front desk and get a code.
The hotel certainly provides comfortable bed with enough pillows. The details on the walls behind the bed were a nice touch.
Many hotel rooms nowadays seem to feature bathrooms with a glass panel facing the bedroom. The Four Points Bangkok bathroom features a bit of a modification on this feature – instead of a glass wall it has a sliding wooden door that separates the two sections of the room. This allows the room to have an open-ish floor plan while still providing maximum privacy once someone decides to use the facilities.
The deep bathtub is perfectly positioned so you can watch TV while you relax. There’s also TV speaker located in the bathroom. Right behind the tub is the beginning of the bathroom counter with a modern sink in the middle.
The rest of the bathroom was also quite nice. Designed with light wood fixtures, polished metal and frosted glass. The room also features a separate shower stall from the bath tub. The separate shower isn’t big, but it’s spacious enough. The water pressure was fantastic with perfect temperature.
The Eatery is the hotel’s main restaurant. It has a very refreshing and relax atmosphere. Breakfast is being served here and the options are pretty delightful.
It’s extremely large and gives you a choice of anything you could want including the western favorites, Asian breakfast dishes, a few specialty breakfast pies, cheese and meat platters, a huge selection of pastries, fruit and drinks.
The hotel also offers different amenities for their guess. After settling into my room, I went up to the top floor to check out the pool. The pool is a 15-meter outdoor infinity pool. The water constantly moves as it laps over the infinity edge and is fed by a waterfall shooting from grey stone at one end.
There is also a bar lounge area called “Ambar” on the rooftop area. The bar surrounding the pool area is nice as well and serves as a great place to get a drink and relax especially at night.
On the other side of the building is the fitness center which is open for 24 hours and can access using your room key card. It has an average-sized equipped with different machines. Water, towels and headphones are provided as are clean foam ear covers.
They also have Function or Meeting rooms called “Pinwheel” and “Breeze”. Pinwheel hall is located on the ground floor while the larger Breeze hall is located on the top floor of the Garden Wing.
If you’re looking for a more comfortable space their Junior Suite is a great option. The room size has 48-56 square meters with cozy ambiance. It also offers a studio-style open design with two-seat couch and an oversize bathroom.
The Terrace Suite offers a larger space with large living room area and a private terrace with comfy outdoor furniture. The room size is 64 to 72 square meters with 3 LCD TV and Jacuzzi style bathtub.
Home Sweet Home Suite
This Suite is one of their largest suites and has its own Jacuzzi inside a huge bathroom. This is a perfect choice if you’re travelling with your family as it has a separate huge living room.
