Just this week, I had a chance to experience Siam Kempinski Hotel, one of the newest luxury hotels in Thailand’s capital city of Bangkok which is celebrating their 3rd year of existence in this vibrant city on September 27. When I wander around the hotel, I realized that the property is built in a circle form. I immediately noticed the wonderful HUGE saltwater pools and lush landscaped gardens occupying the center of the hotel. My impression was that the hotel is likely more of a luxury resort within the city. The hotel white structures have minimalistic appeal and all 303 rooms including the 42 suites have their own balcony with a view of the center garden.
When I arrived at the hotel, I was greeted by their friendly securities and staffs and guided me to the reception area. The whole lobby is primarily made of vast marble creating a white atmosphere with contrast of purple which is the color of most of the decoration. On both side of the lobby, there are staircases wind up to the high ceiling, wooden artworks which serves as a vases for a huge tower of flowers. At night, a pianist and a lounge singer performs a very mellow music. I was impressed that the hotel compound is very quiet and offers a serene atmosphere considering that they are located in one of the busiest place in Bangkok.
Siam Kempinski gave me a complimentary stay in one of their Executive Rooms located on the Royal Wing. Ms Pin, one of the receptionists escorted me to the room and explains some important details that I need to know during my stay. In my opinion, the room size is about 50 square meters.
The Bedroom is spacious and offers a very relax atmosphere. The floor is a combination of dark-shiny wood and carpets complimenting the beautiful decorations in the room. The room is decorated with pieces of Thai art and beautiful wall paintings of lotus flower. The room also have balcony with a bird’s-eye view of the center garden.
For those who need to work while on a holiday, the hotel room has a separate working station with the option of having a faster internet connection (charges apply), although I find their complimentary wi-fi access throughout the hotel very fast. They also offer a sofa set inside the room with a view of the Bangkok City.
Undeniably, Thai foods are one of the most delicious cuisines in the world. For sure you’ll buy something to eat when you’re in the mall or even just walking in the street. The room also have kitchenette with microwave oven, giving you the convenience of reheating your favorite Thai foods.
The room also comes with tea and coffee-making facilities, fresh tropical fruits (replenished daily), a large LCD TV with infrared keyboard which you can use if you want to browse online, DVD player with an amazing sound system where you can also dock your ipod if you want to listen your favorite music, a mini-bar where all the items are free and being replenished daily. The King size bed is very comfortable matched with equally comfortable pillows.
The bathroom is equipped with toiletries which is being replenish daily and has vanity sink made of high quality materials. It features a well complimented mix of wood and stone. It also offer separate bathtub with a large glass window offering the view of the room and the option of closing with wooden blinds if you want some privacy. There’s also a separate glassed-in rainfall shower and a very beautiful weighing scale.
There’s also a volume control inside the bathroom in case you want to listen to a soothing music while relaxing in bath tub.
The room comes with a breakfast which is being serves from 6:30-10:30am at Brasserie Europa, one of their restaurants located on the Ground Floor. It offers the charms of both outdoor and indoor space with the view of the lush gardens and pools.
Brasserie Europa offer pretty amazing choices, from local Thai cuisine, Pastries, Middle Eastern section, American and Western section, all of foods are serve with high quality. Wine and various drinks are also part of the buffet breakfast.
There are numerous hotels in Bangkok and Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok is one of the hotels located right in the center of the shopping district of the city. The hotel is surrounded by the popular shopping malls of Siam. In fact, It’s located just at the back of Siam Paragon. From the hotel, you just crossed a narrow road and you’re in Siam Paragon which has a foot-bridge connection to other big shopping center like Central World.
The hotel is just a short walk from the restaurants, shops and hustle and bustle of walkway-linked luxury shopping malls. The luxury hotel even has direct access to the BTS, Bangkok Sky Train.
