One of my favorite sights in Kolkata, India was the flower market in Mallick Ghat underneath Howrah Bridge. This market in the east side of Kolkata is one of the oldest and largest flower markets in India. For almost 130 years, buyers and sellers are constantly running through narrow alleyways of the market with massive loads of flower on their heads or carried on their arms.
Thousands of flower sellers and buyers gather here daily from sunrise to sunset, and during wedding and festivals season, it probably double the number. The vivid yellow and orange Marigolds provide a colorful and eye catching display along with different kinds of flower. This flower market is definitely not to be missed if you’re visiting Kolkata.
