A moment in Puerto Princesa Public Market

I had the opportunity to see Puerto Princesa for a day when I was on my way back to Manila from El Nido. Puerto Princesa City is the capital of Palawan and is a pleasant, although full of activity, commercial center. It is often merely a stopover for tourists heading off to other famous Palawan holiday destinations. I have found many things to like about this city, including the cleanliness and being a very organized city. Puerto Princesa is probably one of the cleanest citites in the Philippines.

In cases like this where I only have little time to stay in a particular place, I often visited the local public market.  By looking at the products or goods they sell in the market, I was able to identify a little part of the culture of the place I visited.

When I get to Puerto Princesa, I went directly to their local public market and these are the things that you will see inside their market.

Comments

  1. The squid looks good! Makes me want to grill one for dinner! :D

  2. We lived in PP for a year when I was about 9 years old. I loved going to the market with my mom because of the interesting fishies being sold.

  3. Good to see they rebuilt the public market. When I was in PP in 2008 the market was damaged by fire.
